This book 'the Magic Square II' is a sequel to book I from 2016 and provides an overview of Elisabeth Müller’s visual work from 2016–2022. The work is based on the principles of the Wohltemperierte Klavier by J.S.Bach (1685–1750). As a starting point she has taken 12 color groups, each made up of 4 colors so that 48 colors are used. Each color group has its own affect, its own emotion. The 16-square, the 'Magic Square', borrowed from the engraving Melencolia 1 by Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528) forms the basis of the 12 groups in which 70 paintings are housed.
